Brook Trout Island

Back in April I had a chance to visit a small stream in southwestern Connecticut. I had never fished this section of stream and had heard rumors of native brook trout residing there. Well the rumors were true. Many brookies were caught and released on a size 18 Hornberg soft hackle. I came across an island in the stream which I plan to camp on one night this fall. Enjoy the pics of this very special place.

Where The Fresh Meets The Salt

Caught and released this brown today on an urban stream in a pool where the fresh water meets the salt. My first caught in that area since 2013. Took a size 10 natural colored mallard flank streamer. Not the greatest pics but wanted to get fish released quickly. The fish made my season.

Happy Father's Day

My dad holding me when I was baby. He passed away when I was 9. Today I will fish the river he taught me to fish on. Happy Father's Day Dad.

Out Of The Loop

Haven't had a chance to fish more than a handful of times in 2014.
Very busy with my work and caring for our 12 year old Flat-Coated Retriever who was diagnosed with nasal cancer. He is actually doing pretty well, all things considered.
Come December I should have some free time to fish again.
Looking forward to sharing some fishing adventures & flies I tied in the near future.
